Гордиенко Е.В.

Abstract

The article is concerned with the Vietnamese hagiographic texts (thần tích) about the commander Trần Hưng Đạo, one of the key figures in Vietnamese history, the winner in the wars of the era of the Sino-Mongol invasions of the second half of the 13th century. The article analyzes hagiographic texts from the northern Vietnamese province of Hà Nam (translated by me), in many villages of which Trần Hưng Đạo is venerated as a tutelary spirit. By their form and content, the hagiographic texts about Trần Hưng Đạo differ significantly from other medieval Vietnamese documents (literary and historical) telling about him.
