Poetsʼ Encounter with a Ghost: Wang Biʼs Dialogue with the Lu Brothers in the Early Medieval Xiaoshuo Prose

The article is devoted to the reflection of the images of the philosopher Wang Bi (226–249) and the poets Lu Ji (261–303) and Lu Yun (262–303) in narrative prose. The purpose of the article is to determine the reasons why the stories about the encounterof the ghost of Wang Bi with the poets of Lu were included in the collection “Yi yuan” (5th century). For this purpose, the texts of the sources, their research, as well as biographical information about the heroes of the stories were used. The article provides translations of these stories, describes and analyzes their various editions.
