Conceptualization of the Past: From Testimony to Folklore. Round Table at the XXIV International Conference

Abstract

The review is devoted to the round table “Conceptualization of Memory of the Past: from Testimony to Folklore”, which took place within the framework of the XXIV International Conference “Modernization of Russia in the Context of Formation of a New World Order”. The round table, organized by the Department of Cultural Studies of the Institute of Scientific Information on Social Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences, took place on January 24, 2025. Researchers from Russia and Israel took part in the round table. The participants discussed the limits of applicability of the methods of structural-typological folklore studies to oral history materials.
