Man in the Philosophy of Living Ethics

Sokolova B.Yu.

Abstract

The human microcosm is one of the central themes of Russian cosmism and the most difficult problem of the cognition of being. The philosophy of cosmism, and in particular Living Ethics, conceptualizes man as an integral part of the Universe, to which he is connected by invisible but strong threads. The purpose of the article is to reveal the main anthropological categories contained in the philosophical system of Living Ethics. The article gives an idea of the cosmic evolution of mankind as a process based on energy exchange, as well as the inextricable connection between man and the Cosmos; the category of work is considered as the basis for the self-improvement of an individual; the enormous possibilities of aspiration and free, joyful creativity are noted; it is shown what the potentially unlimited possibilities of a person consist of; thought as spiritual matter and its creative potential are analyzed; the cardiocentrism of this philosophy, the capacities of the heart as a spiritual instrument of cognition, as well as the most important anthropological categories of creativity, joy and heroism are examined. The category of heroism is considered in two closely interrelated aspects – external (as a phenomenon of the cultural and historical process) and internal (as a phenomenon of the human spirit). It is concluded that the heroic principle is potentially inherent in every person. The author emphasizes the harmony of the ideas of Living Ethics and the thoughts expressed by various philosophers, especially representatives of Russian cosmism.
