Preservation of Cultural Heritage in BRICS Countries: Challenges and Aspects of Legal Regulation

Abstract

The problems of preserving cultural heritage are common to the entire world community. The BRICS countries have a rich and diverse cultural heritage. The joint efforts of the BRICS countries, their cooperation and exchange of experience in this direction serve as an important contribution to solving this common, global task. The purpose of this article is to identify issues that could potentially be of interest to all or some of the BRICS countries and become the subject of discussion and exchange of experience within this platform at different levels. In this regard, the article outlines the problems of preserving cultural heritage in the BRICS countries and their legal regulation in this area. The BRICS countries are included in the system of international cooperation and have ratified a number of international agreements related to the preservation of cultural heritage. This creates a common basis for understanding ways to solve problems of national legal regulation. The diversity of national legal frameworks for the preservation of cultural heritage allows for the exchange of experience and contributes to the choice of optimal models for its legal regulation.
