Features of the musical life of Poland in the 19 th century

Abstract

The article examines the musical life of Poland after the defeat of the November Uprising of 1830. In that period, the value of a particular art phenomenon was determined not only (and sometimes not so much) by its artistic merits, art the value of a particular art phenomenon was determined not only (and sometimes not so much) by its artistic merit. Art is becoming the main field for the manifestation of national originality. The idea of the national character of musical creativity became the first requirement for composers, and it was this idea that ultimately subordinated the entire musical life of that time.
