The expression «kvass patriotism» (1827) belongs to P.A. Vyazemsky, often attributed to N.A. Polevoy and widely used by Belinsky in polemics with the Slavophils. The article also considers the history of the French predecessor of this expression – patriotisme d’antichambre.
