Abstract
This article is devoted to the study of a little-known issue in Russia – the appearance of people from Africa in India and the formation of African communities in this country. The main stages of this process are traced, with special attention paid to the historical and cultural synthesis that led to the adaptation of former outsiders to Indian conditions.
