Narrative strategies of classical and mass literature

Kryukova O.S.

Abstract

The article is devoted to the problem of differentiation of classical and mass literature in the literary hierarchy. The aim of the study is a comparative analysis of narrative strategies that are characteristic of both these types of literature. The conclusion is made about the difficulty of identifying a narrative strategy peculiar exclusively to classics or only to mass literature. The goals of using such narrative strategies as adventurousness, “dialogicity” and demonstrative literariness in a particular work may differ significantly.
