In Poland, only two composers are considered to be the true successors of Chopin’s traditions, which «raised the national to universal», – Karol Szymanowski and Henryk Mikołaj Gurecki. The article discusses the creative evolution and aesthetic views of Szymanowski and the evaluation of Guretsky's music by Polish critics.
