Several illustrations to the problem of the evolution of philosophical terminology in European culture: cognitive aspect

Abstract

The article refers to the comparison of the philosophical terminology of Plato and Aristotle (words χώρα and ὕλη), on one hand, and that of Husserl (word ἐποχή), on the other hand. The four-level-cognitive-development model is a basis for such comparison. The article provide the evidence that philosophies of Plato and Aristotleare positioned at Level C of the above model, whereas Husserl’s one is located at Level D.
