Portuguese Neorealism as a Museum heritage and a living tradition

Ogneva E.V.

Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the evolution of Portuguese neorealism. This is a significant phenomenon of national literature, which in the 1930s announced a drastic renewal of the heritage of its predecessors-realists and absorbed the experience of naturalism and regionalism. It lays the foundations of a new literary tradition, is influenced by other artistic systems, and by the 1980s is considered as a national museum heritage, with which modern Portuguese prose enters into a dialogue.
