This publication contains an annotated translation of five essays from the collection Taoʼan Meng Yi (“Dream Memories of Taoʼan”)
by the writer, traveller, historian and patron of the arts Zhang Dai (1597–1689). Four of these essays have been translated into Russian for the first time. The essays are devoted to the experience of everyday life at the end of the Ming period.
