The article is devoted to the actual problem of the dialogue
between elite and mass musical cultures, which is studied on the example of Alexei Rybnikov's work. Culturologically the most significant works of the modern composer of classical (elitist) and mass genres (film music, rock music, etc.) are analyzed, in which the techniques and methods of their interaction and dialogue are revealed. The conclusion is made about the free intercultural genre synthesis, which led to high, bright and original artistic results.
