Яцкевич А.А.

Abstract

This article explores French gastronomic traditions in everyday culture, specifically analyzing the concept of “l'art de bien manger” (the art of eating well) from a linguoculturology perspective. The linguacultural field approach was chosen as the systematic research method. Widely used in linguistics, the field method in linguoculturology is promising, but requires further development and thorough analysis. This article attempts not only to systematize knowledge about the field concept in linguoculturology but also to advance the scientific justification of its use. The article devotes particular attention to such a characteristic of the linguacultural field as its correlation with categories of national mentality and worldview. Studying the French concept of “l'art de bien manger” through the interrelationship of language and culture allowed us to describe the unique worldview of the French in such a significant area of their lives as gastronomy.
