The review article is devoted to the All-Russian scientific conference “Franz Kafka: a Century later”, held on October 10–12, 2024 at the Institute of Philology, Journalism and Intercultural Communication (Southern Federal University). The conference is dedicated to the centenary of the death of the great Austrian writer and presents an attempt at contemporary interpretations of the legacy of twentieth-century modernism, demonstrates the enduring importance of the ideas and images of the Austrian classic, his contribution to world culture and the need for intercultural dialogue to understand the pressing issues of modernity.
