The City as an Educational Space: Developing an Inclusive Museum Program for Children with ASD (Case Study of the Nizhny Novgorod State Art Museum)

Пепеляева С.В., Шарова М.Ю.

Abstract

The article clarifies the role of museums in creating an inclusive urban environment, using the “Summer Urban Camp” program for children with ASD in Nizhny Novgorod as a case study. It examines the content of three key program components: hands-on museum sessions, a helpful chatbot, and city field trips that teach kids to “read” urban spaces. The piece covers how they adapt content for different needs, measure what works, and the potential to expand programs like this elsewhere.
